Wanted: Nickel-Free Jeans
Filed in archive Gadgets and Tools Against Allergies , Metal Allergies by ruth on January 24, 2007

A great idea, but has anyone found jeans that are manufactured without metal in them?I'm going to assume that the offending material here is nickel
, and not metals in general, as nickel is the most common culprit for contact dermatitis due to metal exposure. Well, I've done a bit of digging, and all I found out was that Mel is not alone in looking for nickel-free jeans. I've found shops where you can get nickel-free belt buckles, but the closest solution I've got so that those with nickel allergies may be able to wear jeans is to replace the buttons and rivets with nickel-free ones. You can ask your tailor to alter your jeans, or custom-make one for you.Other than that, I'm sorry. I'm surprised that there hasn't been an enterprising soul who has capitalized on this apparent demand in the market.
