TobacAlert and Allergies: Where's the Connection?
Filed in archive Gadgets and Tools Against Allergies on July 21, 2006
Last month, I wrote about a new study demonstrating that secondhand smoke aggravates allergies. A company manufacturing a device for detecting secondhand smoke quickly jumped on the news and issued a press release of their own, presumably in an effort to market their product to people with allergies.
But, I'm in haze here (or secondhand smoke?). While I can imagine TobacAlert a nifty gadget if I want to find out if my kids have been smoking, I can't see why it can help one cope with allergies. Did I miss something there?
