Whether you have lactose intolerance, dairy allergies, or simply do not like the taste of milk, here are some possible milk alternatives you might want to try:

1. Soy Milk - obviously not suitable for those with allergies to soy. Personally, I also do not like the thought of giving soy milk on a regular basis especially to children because of its phytoestrogen content.

2. Almond Milk - high in calcium, but again, not suitable for those with tree nut allergies

3. Coconut Milk - a viable option particularly in recipes calling for milk or cream. It tastes rather strong, though, and I can't imagine using it as a beverage.

4. Rice Milk - this is what we've found to be the best alternative. It tastes neutral, although a bit watery in consistency. My 7 year old still drinks this to date, even though he has already outgrown his dairy allergies.

5. Goat Milk - a viable option to few individuals with cow's milk allergy. Didn't work for us, though.

Of course, for very young infants or toddlers with milk allergies, there's still the option of completely hydrolyzed formula (different from "HA" or "hypoallergenic" formula).
