I was surfing for information on glue ear, when I came across this BBC Health article on allergies. According to Dr. Adrian Morris, you can often spot allergic or potentially allergic children and young adults without even doing any allergy tests, based on these indicators:
- Appearance
- Allergic shiners
- Dennie-Morgan lines
- Long-face syndrome
- Nasal salute
- Facial tics
- Keratosis pilaris
- Atopic eczema
- Conjunctivitis
- Glue ear
- Postnasal drip
Each of these are discussed in the article and after the second or third item, I realize that it's about spotting individuals mostly with allergic rhinitis. Silly me, for thinking that one can spot a child with food allergies!
