Snickers Almonds Now Contain Peanuts, Too!
Filed in archive Food Allergies , Product Alerts on August 28, 2006
As a recepient of FAAN Alerts, I got this ingredient notice in my mailbox and I'd like to share it with you:
Masterfoods USA would like to inform you that peanuts ARE NOW PART OF THE RECIPE for "SNICKERS"® ALMOND Bars. To make this change more obvious for consumers we have not only bolded all of the allergens (including peanuts) in the ingredient statement but have also put a statement on the front of the package: "This Product Contains Peanuts".
Actually, I think the previous allergy information may have indicated that "the product was manufactured in a facility that uses peanuts". But anyway, that's already moot, as now, not only may be there traces, peanuts are really now a major ingredient. So, for those with peanut allergies, Snickers Almonds are a no-go!
