Safe To Eat Sauces and Soups for People With Food Allergies
Filed in archive Food Allergies , Gadgets and Tools Against Allergies on November 4, 2006
Once in a while, perhaps at the end of a busy day, or just when you don't feel like cooking, it's nice to just rip a packet of ready made food, nuke it for a few minutes and serve. The options for such convenience food are endless, but if you have food allergies, after screening the ingredient labels, you're left with just a few choices.
For those in the UK and Ireland, there's SafetoEat sauces and soups. Except for one product, all soups and sauces exclude the twelve common food allergens: Gluten, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Celery, Eggs, Soya, Milk, Sesame Seeds, Fish, Shell Fish, mustard, and Sulphites.
You have 5 soups and 8 sauces to choose from. It's not much, but at least, they're safe, and convenient. Don't ask me how they taste like, though. I've never tried them.
Apparently, they're available in Tesco, and health food stores. Check the list and map of stores where you can get these products, or order online.
