People with Allergies, Less Likely to Develop Glioma

For all the trouble your allergies may be giving you, something good has been discovered to come out of it. Or at least, that's one way to look the results of a new study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

Their data indicate that people with allergies have a lower risk of developing glioma, tumors that develop often in the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.
Doctors found people with asthma, hay fever, eczema or other allergies had a 30 percent reduction in the risk of glioma.
Patients with multiple allergies saw their risk drop even more. Researchers say further studies are needed to determine why there's a link.
