Overcoming Egg Allergies
Filed in archive Allergy: Research and Development , Food Allergies on November 23, 2006
Hey, good news for kids with egg allergies! Results from a new pilot study suggests that gradually increasing consumption of eggs will enable people with egg allergies to eventually eat a normal serving, i.e., up to two scrambled eggs without having a reaction.
Well, we don't eat much eggs as such in our family. But for those with allergies to egg, think of the potential variety of food products that may be safely consumed if one can just increase their threshold levels. Ready mixes for baked goodies, pasta, sauces, salads, and much more!
Note though, that if you or your kid has an extreme sensitivity to egg and egg products, don't do this on your own. Enlist the help of an allergist to find a suitable and safe regime for you.
Ah, it's a good day. Oh and yeah, Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it! :)
