Outgrowing Chlorine Allergies?

© havenholidaysA couple of weeks ago, we braved a trip to a new public swimming pool about half an hour's drive form our place. As a backgrounder, whenever we go swimming, my son almost always end up having bouts of what seems like allergic asthma a few days after. But it was a 4-day weekend, and we decided to take our chances. We figured that worse comes to worst, he had a few days to recuperate at home before school resumes.
I had all the medical supplies ready (nebulizer, Berodual, saline solutions, nose drops). But curiously, nothing happened this time. For the first time in almost 3 years, no asthmatic cough following a dip in the pool! Has he outgrown his chlorine sensitivity, just like he has lost most of his food allergies? If so, was it a matter of time, lungs and immune system getting more mature, or was it the probiotic dietary supplements he has been regularly consuming? I'm not yet sure. At this point, it still feels like it was a fluke that he didn't suffer a flare up. Got to verify next school break!
