Nitrile Allergies
More on Latex and Nitrile Allergies
There are more and more of you reporting allergic reaction to nitrile gloves, but unfortunately there doesn't see to be much information on the web regarding this. It seems that for as long as there are no alternatives, the industry is not willing to acknowledge that people can indeed be allergic to nitrile gloves!

I agree that the industry is not willing to recognize that there is a problem with the nitrile gloves. Of coarse a respresentative from kimberly clark told me that they knew that there were people that were sensitive /allergic to the nitrile gloves , and if people were allergic to the acclerators in the latex gloves they would have problems with the gloves , because the same accelerators that are used in making the latex gloves , are used in making the nitrile gloves. However , i do seriously doubt that any of these manufacturers or distributers of these gloves are going to inform hopsitals , clinics etc of this.

I went to the site that michael suggested , and of coarse all it to me was a bunch of nonsense that I have continually heard , the list of possible causes , was latex contamination ...well lets get that one out of the way ...im not allergic to latex ...and several others reporting allergic reactions to the nitrile gloves ...reported never having a problem with latex...the second was the accelerators ...okay ...the same accelerators that are used in making the latex gloves ,are used in making the nitrile gloves...so no problem here with the latex ..and with several others posting no problem with the latex ..so its not the accelerators ...ventilation....now that was funny ....i do not think problems with the gloves not ventilating well ..caused my turning red , couldnt breath , couldnt swallow problem...glove leakage ....well funny thing...i was not around chemicals or cleaned up any chemicals spills with nitrile gloves on...so that is a big no...then of coarse the go to the powder free statement ...the nitrile gloves that my former employer was using were powder free. NO i do not use lotions , perfumes ...etc ...so that again is a no ...i find also interesting that acrylnitrile (nitrile)butadiene is listed as a black rubber mix, black rubber mixes have been used primarily as material for automotive belts for your car , etc ...mechanics were stating that they were having problems with the materials ...you can see a list of black rubber mixes on the following website : http://www.orlandoskindoc.com/test.n-isopropl-n-phenyl-4=phenylenediam
ine-black%20.
The industry claims not to use a black rubber mix for the nitrile gloves ...but according to that list the two of the main ingredients in these nitrile gloves is considered a black rubber mix...if you look up these two chemicals used in making these gloves ..i do not think anyone would ever put these gloves on again...butadiene is derived from petroleum...acrylnitrile ..is a chemical that they use to use in pesticides ...you can see this at the following website : http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/tfacts125.html..that
