Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) on Pets

When it comes to alternative therapies, I'm mixed-up. While I strongly believe on the power of nutrition, certain herbal and dietary supplements, and to some extent, some traditional eastern practices like acupunture, there are healing approaches of which I am simply not fully convinced. Chalk it up to ignorance, if you may, but stubbornness is more like it. Unless I see the logic or a scientific explanation at least, I remain skeptic.
So when I read this article about the use of the Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) on pets, I had the same skepticism I voiced out in a previous entry.
She uses a laser that sends a single cold wavelength of red light to points on Zeke's body. With the help of a veterinary technician, the energy is transmitted to the pup. Through this technique, she can treat food and environmental allergies, like house dust or mites. The technique is also relaxing for animals and, for Zeke, has made him a bit more calm in the office.
Treating allergies with laser. Sounds too Star-Wars-y to me.
