If you have metal allergies, you will most likely develop contact dermatitis or rashes on the skin that comes into contact with the metal that you are allergic to. Nickel is the usual culprit, and it is commonly present in metals used for jewelry, buttons, buckles, etc.
As people spend more and more time with their electronic gadgets, nickle that is present in the metal casings of common gadgets also now pose a problem. There has been an increasing number of cases of a new skin disorder termed as "mobile phone dermatitis", an allergic reaction developing on the face and ear as a result of prolonged contact with some mobile phones' casings and buttons.
