For respiratory allergies such as sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, and runny nose, a skin or "prick" test will probably be your best choice. This is very effective in diagnosing inhaled allergens as well as allergies to penicillin and insect bites.
If you have a skin disease which might make the results of the skin test difficult to read or you're so sensitive to the allergen that a skin test could be risky, a blood test might be more appropriate.
For possibly food allergies, an 'elimination' diet is usually done to identify that food item you're allergic to. Skin tests may also be performed.
If you suspect allergies, find an allergist in your area and get an appointment to identify your allergies, and the best options for treatment.
