Man Dies Due to Penicillin Allergies
Filed in archive Allergy to Drugs on September 20, 2007
Imagine a man, being rushed to the hospital after sustaining injuries following a street accident. According to reports, He had injuries to his head and chest but was able to walk and talk when he was taken to the hospital. Nevertheless, he lost consciousness and died two days later.

The culprit: Penicillin allergies.
"The penicillin allergy is not marked on the file, in my experience, it would be standard to be marked on the front. It would have helped. I have seen a lot of road traffic accidents like this in my time and I was surprised to hear that Mr Greaves passed away." Mr McCullough said Mr Greaves should have been wearing a warning bracelet to alert medics of his steroid condition.
And to think that even as I write about such medical bracelets here at Allergizer, personally I was not 100% convinced of their necessity. Now I know better.
