Kid's Xlear With Xylitol: All-Natural, OTC Kid's Product for Spring Allergy Season
Filed in archive Allergy Medications , Living with Allergies on April 6, 2010

Spring allergy season is here once more...
A total of 2 million school days are missed each year due to nasal allergy symptoms in children and on any given day, 10,000 American children miss school because of allergic rhinitis according to the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology.
Here is a very common illness that deserves much attention. About 20 percent of Americans have allergies and children tend to suffer most. Parents should prepare for the upcoming spring months to help try to prevent these sick days caused by allergies.
An all-natural, OTC, non-addictive option is Kid's Xlear with xylitol.
Xylitol is the greatest defensive weapon for helping prevent pathogens and allergens from causing problems in the nasal passages, where respiratory problems start. It simply acts as an aid to the body's natural cleansing process by pulling small amounts of water into the nose to help the washing, and the xylitol prevents the pathogens from holding on.
When bacteria enter the body, they hold on to the tissues by attaching to a variety of sugar complexes. Xylitol interferes with this adherence. It means fewer nasal related problems.
So have you tried this product?

I've tried, use it, and absolutely love. Its been a great way to alleviate my daughter's allergy symptoms for a couple of years now. I think its great that Xlear doesn't use any chemical antihistamines or decongestants that can leave her airways and sinuses dry. So I get an all natural alternative to giving drugs to my daughter! I recommend it to everyone and use a variety of their other Xylitol products too.

The nasal use of xylitol has not gotten into the medical literature because it is not a drug, but you are accurate and concise in your explanation of why it works. You can find out more at the web site nasal-xylitol or in our book "The Boids and the Bees." A shorter book "No More Allergies, Asthma, or Sinus Infections" will be out within a few weeks. The bottom line is we need to keep our noses clean and this is likely the easiest way to do that in existence.

I love the fact that this is not a drug. There is another drug free spray that works well with children's allergies called Chrisal Probiotic Allergy Free. It is most helpful with indoor allergens like dust mites. Thumbs up for natural ways to alleviate allergy symptoms.
