This might be handy for those in the UK: the Food Standards Agency now offers free Allergy SMS Text Message Service to alert people with a food allergy about products that may be a risk to them.
Sue Hattersley, head of the Food Allergy Branch at the FSA, said "This new scheme is an efficient way of reaching people whose health could be at risk due to allergens such as peanuts, other nuts, milk or shellfish ingredients used in products that are not properly labelled.
To receive such alert messages on your phone, simply send the text message 'START ALLERGY' to 62372. To unsubscribe, text 'STOP ALLERGY'.
