Food Allergies

On one hand, Air Transport Users' Council (ATUC) industry affairs manager James Fremantle has a point when he said that it's like forcing passengers to buy food on board. On the other hand, as a mother of a multiple food-allergic child, I also do appreciate the move. Budget airlines normally fly only short stretches. Surely, if one doesn't want to pay the (exorbitant) prices of the food on board, one can also just have a bite before boarding and wait until touchdown for a real meal?

Why should I belimited to what I can do because someone else has food allergies. This is taking things way too far. I personally suffer from hayfever allergies, but no food allergies. I would prefer it if fellow passengers did not wear floral perfumes because these can make me sneeze and come out in a rash, but that is unlikely to be enforced, so why should a food policy such as this be enforced? If you, or your children suffer from food allergies they don't need to take my food.
