Finding An Allergist
One of the most frustrating thing about having allergies is that it can be an enigma. Just when you think you understand your condition, here comes another symptom or development any average person cannot be expected to understand, much less cope with. The web is a trove of information, but this should never replace a consultation with a doctor. In fact, there are cases even your GP, or family doctor, cannot attend to. Some cases, especially those with very high sensitivities and bear the risk of having anaphylactic shocks, need advice and attention of a certified allergist.

In the UK, getting an appoinment with an allergist is, however, not so easy. According to an article in the Guardian Unlimited, there are only 33 allergists in the country, and considering the millions of patients needing attention, it's no wonder if allergies and allergy-related illnesses continue to be a permeating problem.

Should you need an allergist, try the AAAAI Physician Directory. It also lists some allergists from other countries; ten allergy specialists located in different cities across UK are listed.
