The asthma-friendly certification program, a joint effort of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and the international research organization, Allergy Standards Limited (ASL), has just placed its stamp of approval on the Dyson line of vacuum cleaners, which I also wrote about a year ago). In addition, they are also approved for allergy sufferers by the British Allergy Foundation.
These vacuum cleaners are a bit pricier than the usual run-of-the-mill ones, but if your indoor allergies are giving you a hard time, or if you have pets, if might be a good idea to invest in one. You can get these Dyson vacuum cleaners from Amazon

Love our Dyson. We have the one specifically for pet owners. It has really improved our allergies and made pet hair more manageeable.

It's interesting that Dyson is considered allergy friendly, when their vacuum doesn't actually kill any allergens.

We make the world's first vacuum that kills dust mites, the flu virus, flea eggs, bacteria and mold with Ultraviolet light. Now that, is allergy friendly :)

@Kate
It is unfortunate you have decided to use this forum as a way to advertise your product. A product that does not seem to be reviewed or even recognized by any primary consumer product review publication, or web site.
I would also like to point out that the method your product uses to kill bacteria is unproven, and only theoretical, and is not endorsed by any medical association.
