Danish Allergy Product Company, ALK-Abello A/S, Building Plant in Post Falls (Idaho)
Maker of allergy drug products - ALK-Abello A/S of Denmark - is expanding in Idaho and by doing so will build the world's largest allergen raw material production plant in the area.

The company is breaking ground Wednesday (June 27) on the $50 million plant in a business park in Post Falls, about 15 miles east of Spokane.

According to Miles Guralnick, president of Biopol Laboratory Inc. and vespa Laboratories, which are partners in the project:

The company also looked at two sites on the Washington side of the border, but Idaho provided a much better business environment.

The state of Idaho is very aggressively trying to pull business.

The manufacturing, research and development plant will be part of the global launch of the world's first tablets intended to reduce a person's sensitivity to allegens."


ALK-Abello A/S, based in Horsholm, Denmark and is a maker of allergy immunotherapy tablets.

Currently, the company has four products in its pipeline targeting grass pollen, house dust mites, ragweed and birch allergies.

The plant in Post Falls, Idaho is expected to open in 2009.
