Dangers of Food Allergies, Exaggerated?
The last few days, bloggers who are dealing with food allergies are on an uproar over Meredith Broussard's article, Everyone's Gone Nuts: The exaggerated threat of food allergies. Ms. Broussard also did an interview, where she says the stats on allergy-related deaths are inaccurate and that the danger of food allergies are exaggerated.

While I do agree with Ms. Broussard that we should be careful that we are not falsely reporting statistics and unnecessarily making the public scared of the risks, we cannot deny that there really are people who are deathly allergic to certain foods. What difference does it make if there is one child in the whole school who is deathly allergic to peanuts or if there are five? We're talking of life and death here.
