Curry Powder and Nut Allergies?

© (nutmeg)Just the other day, I decided to make some chicken curry. I made a mental list of the ingredients I needed and checked whether I have them all. Turned out I just needed to get the main ingredient: curry. I had turmeric, but I decided to stick to the recipe and make a quick trip to get real curry powder instead. I went straight to the spice section, skimmed through the racks, and grabbed a bottle of curry powder... without reading the label.
I know, I know, I should have known better. After all I've more than 6 years of experience as an allergy mom now!
Anyway, as it turned out, curry powder is a mixture of lesser known ingredients. The ingredient list indicates: coriander, fenugreek, turmeric, cumin, black pepper, bay leaves, celery seed, nutmeg, cloves, onnion, red pepper and ginger.
Two suspicious ingredients: fenugreek and nutmeg. What are they, really, in the context of nut allergies?
So there I was, weighing my options. To curry or not to curry?
