Clorox Anywhere® Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray
Filed in archive Dust Mite Allergies , Gadgets and Tools Against Allergies , Pet Allergies on August 27, 2008

I was surfing on some allergy-related website when I chanced upon an advertisement for the Clorox Anywhere® Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray. According to the product description on the product website:
This gentle and effective formula helps neutralize up to 90 percent of common indoor allergens* that can hide in upholstery and fabrics throughout the house. The formula works by changing the structure of allergen proteins, rendering them inactive. The fragrance-free, dye-free spray is safe on virtually all fabrics and gentle enough to use around kids and pets. Not recommended on fabrics that are prone to water spotting such as leather, wool, silk and mohair.
By common indoor allergens, they were referring to dust mites, cat dander and pet dander. Ninety percent gone, by just spraying? Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone tried it?

I sprayed EVERYTHING the day my friend who is allergic to my cats arrived as well as 3 days prior. It seemed as though it made things worse. Even I felt irritated in my throat and sinuses and I don't have any allergies to my knowledge. Maybe I sprayed too much. I was very dissapointed. I guess I was hoping it would work so we could visit at my house more often. Too bad!

My son has allergies to dust mites. I clean non-stop but nothing seemed to help until I bought this. It works great!

I haven't tried this but as someone with severe allergies I *can* tell you that the two things that have helped the most were 1) getting a Kindle and no longer purchasing books at used books stalls... and 2) using a probiotic allergy spray called Chrisal (google it - they are a CA company I think). The probiotic spray has help with pet dander issues too - works great!!

Personally, I am not comfortable with the ingredients of this product, I would seriously consider looking into them before you purchase it. Sodium Hypochloride is not something I would like sprayed on my bedding!

I have a friend that is allergic to cats. I have known her for 40 years. This is the first product I tried that actually made my house clean enough for her to stay with me over night for a week. She was thrilled and now I can't find it anywhere -- what happened?
