Pillows that are touted to be non-allergenic can be quite expensive. Some people go for synthetic, foam ones, thinking that they're better than feather or down-filled ones. However, this isn't true. In fact, while there are people who are allergic to the feathers, more are allergic to the dust mites and synthetic pillows are said to actually contain significantly more dust mites than feather pillows.
What you can do is to get Pillow Covers which have a tight weave to prevent dust mite feces (which is what triggers allergies) from coming to the surface.
