A new study suggests that burger and fries are not only bad for your waistline and your heart but are also bad for people with asthma.

Apparently, a high-fat meal can cause increased inflammation in the airways of patients with asthma soon after eating and do not respond as well to treatment compared to those who ate a low-fat meal. Such a result provides more evidence that environmental factors such as diet contribute to the development of asthma.

Love for burger and fries might be the reason of the increase in asthma rates in western countries where high-fat foods are common. While the findings are just preliminary, the researchers suggest cutting on fatty foods. The said study results are presented at this year's American Thoracic Society's International Conference (May 14-19, New Orleans).
