So where are you off to this summer? Going on a long drive? Or perhaps flying somewhere more exotic? Wherever and however you get there, your vacation will be much more enjoyable without having to cope with your allergies, and it is possible, with ample preparation!
Before you book your hotel room, find out what the hotel's policies are regarding smoking and pets. If you're lucky, perhaps they'll have a pure room for you. If you have food allergies, find out in advance what your meal options are.
If you're traveling by car, turn on the air conditioner and air out the car for 10 minutes before you start your trip, and try to schedule your trip in the early morning or evening. If you're taking the plane, be sure to pack your medications in your hand carried luggage. If you have severe food allergy reactions, consider bringing a plane seat cover.

You can also get a UV-C sanitizer to kill allergens (and germs, too) in hotels and planes. Verilux makes one. Every little bit helps.

When I travel I always take with me king sized zippered pillow covers for the dust mites. By taking king, I know I can fit whatever pillow size is on the bed. I also take my bottle of ADS Spray from home. As soon as I check in I spray the blackout drapes, the carpets, the furniture, the bedspread, and I pull back the spread and spray the sheets. By the time I am ready to go to bed I feel a little safer from the dust mites. I don't want to wait until 10 or 11 in the morning to feel well when I travel, I want to wake up and hit the ground running, just like I do at home. You can check out the spray at http://allergystore.com/allergencontrol.htm
