If you or your child already have other forms of allergies, you might want to be extra careful with kiwi. A new study shows that, particularly in children, kiwi can result to severe allergic reactions. If an allergy test hasn't been done yet to identify the substances to which you or your children are allergic to, take extra precaution just in case you do show allergic symptoms.

Incidentally, kiwi allergies are also linked to latex allergies and hay fever. If you're allergic to one, you may be allergic to the others, too.

I have a severe allergy to kiwi. For years I had episodes of diarrhea and vomiting. Only when I took something home that contained kiwi did I discover the allergy towards it. Since it is usually unknown what people are allergic to, there are probably far more allergies that are not reported. I think that the kiwi could be deadly to me.

I think i might have kiwi allergies because whenever I eat a kiwi I get a rash on my nose is this rare?

I am allergic to kiwi for sure. Last month, I ate fruit pie contains other fruits and kiwi too. Immediately i had burning feeling in my mouth n throat. At that time, i didn't know actual cause and thought may be some ingredients in the fruit pie could cause this reaction.

Last night, i ate little quantity (20 gram) of kiwi and got that burning sensation again in my throat. My lips were swallowed and felt irritation in my ears. Last but not least, my eyes became dark red and left eye swallowed too.

It was first time i felt i am allergic to anything and it is kiwi. Dr. said this allergy is getting worse and next time could be more harmful.

I think it could be life threatening...

i notice that everytime i eat kiwi fruit, I immediately feel like my throat is closing up. My eyes and throat feel itchy --my throat actually feels like it has a thick coating down there...very uncomfortable.
