Allergies and Snoring
Filed in archive Allergy: Diagnostics and Treatment , Allergy: Research and Development on April 11, 2006
When you first think about it, it might not be that apparent, but of course it makes sense: snoring and sleep-disordered breathing are twice as common in children who test positive for allergies. According to a study conducted by the Cincinnati Childhood allergy and Air Pollution, a positive allergy test almost doubled the risk for snoring.
If your child is snoring frequently and/or loudly, this may be a symptom of an allergy. Consult a sleep-specialist and your allergist for possible treatment.
